Amy Summers

Amy Michelle Summers of Belton, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the age of 47 with her loving family by her side. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Amy was born on March 12, 1977, in Clovis, NM. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1999 majoring in Recreation Therapy. She worked in a variety of clinical settings including military mental health, being her favorite.

Amy loved creating new craft projects with uncommon items. She liked researching genealogy and history and listening to podcasts of politics and current events. Amy enjoyed the company of many fur babies throughout her life. She was well traveled both in the USA and abroad looking forward to the next adventure. She spent time with friends eating out, attending concerts, shopping, getting pedicures, and enjoying nature.

Amy is survived by her parents, Deborah and Sargent Richey of Butlerville, IN; sister, Edith and brother-in-law, Derek Hounshel of Burgaw, NC; sister, Deborah Conaway of Anchorage, AK; several nephews; and a niece.

Memorial donations in Amy’s honor can be made to Military Warriors Support Foundation or any non-kill, local animal shelter.
