Anne Paris

May 18, 1925 — February 11, 2017

Mass of Christian Burial for Anne Paris, 91 of Harker Heights, will be 8 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights with the Very Reverend Richard O'Rourke officiating. Burial will take place at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery following the mass.
Mrs. Paris passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, February 11, at a local care facility.
Anne Paris was born May 18, 1925 in Sapporo, Japan to Rokuro and Tosa Ishiura. She married the love her life, Nicolas Paris on January 31, 1959 at Camp Zama, Japan. They met while Nicolas was stationed there with the Army. Anne was a communications translator in the same office that Nicolas worked in. They settled in Central Texas 35 years ago after Nicolas's retirement from the Army. Prior to that time, they lived in many exciting place all around the world including Germany, Panama, France, Washington state, and Washington D.C..
Anne was a devoted woman of her faith and a long time parishioner of St. Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church. She was passionate about serving her community in any way she could. She volunteered with the church, the Red Cross, and various groups supporting the Army. Mrs. Paris's gardens were always a source of joy in her life. She had a great love of nurturing and caring for anything that grew from the ground, especially Japanese gardening techniques such as bonsai. She was wonderful artist and cook as well. Traveling was another delight in life that had a special place in her heart. She took many trips with family and friends all over the world that were some of the fondest memories in her life. She was an avid sports fan, rooting for her Nicolas's favorite teams the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Pistons.
Most of all in life she treasured her loving family. Spending time with her granddaughter was especially important to her. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Paris was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 58 years, Nicolas Paris; Daughters, Ivonne Paris Barron and husband Mark Barron of Austin, TX, Danielle Paris-Phillips and husband Bruce Phillips of Chicago, IL; granddaughter, Ke'ala Barron of Austin, TX; and a brother, Junzo Ishiura of Sapporro, Japan.
There will be a time of visitation and fellowship on Monday, February 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton, 503 N. Main. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m..
