Funeral services for Bertha Mae Wharton, 90, of Belton will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Pastors Billy Johnson and Justin Childers officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery.
Ms. Wharton passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at her home.
She was born January 11, 1927 to the late Joel Frank & Mary (Hart) Peal in Refugio. She married Price Wharton on July 1, 1945 in Kingsville. She was a homemaker most of her life, she also sold Avon, worked at Monteith Abstract, Bell County Tax Appraisal District and retired from Bell County Engineers office. She was an active member of Miller Heights Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Price Wharton, Sr. and her parents.
Survivors are 3 sons; Price Wharton, Jr. and wife Patricia of Irving, Larry Wharton Sr. and wife Linda of Belton and Darrell Wharton and wife Rita of Belton; 4 grandchildren Larry Wharton, Jr., Amy Woods, Traci Collie and husband Jay, Andy Wharton and wife Kayla; and 6 great-grandchildren, Violet Schmidt and husband Brandon, Malachi Nourse, Elizabeth Nourse, Ethan Collie, Marielle Collie and Asher Wharton.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scott & White Hospice or Miller Heights Baptist Church.
