Services for Billie L. Evans, 75, of Temple are set for 10:00 am Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Heartfield Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Salado Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans died Saturday afternoon at a local hospital.

Billie was born on January 10, 1938 at Burnett, Texas to the late William and Mildred Jones Hicks. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Belton a member of the Sanctified Sisters of the Red Society of Belton, Texas Central Texas Tea Party worked with the WWII Memorial USS KIDD DD661in Baton Rouge, LA she received numerous service awards and achievements at Fort Hood and was named the Yellow Rose of Texas for her work there for many years she served as the chairperson for the Belton Fourth of July Parade.

She married Moody Evans on August 1, 1981 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2008.

Survivors include two daughters, Carrie Northam of Temple, Robyn Smith of Temple three sons, Brian Loew of Temple, Randy Evans of Belton, Michael Evans of Oceanside, CA a brother, Bruce Hicks of Belton 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 68 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
