Bruce Hutchens Sr.

Bruce Ray Hutchens Sr., age 68 of Belton, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at a local nursing facility. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.

Bruce was born on January 20, 1952 to Worth Garland Hutchens Sr. and Elizabeth (Byerly) Hutchens in Thomasville, North Carolina. He attended North Davidson High School. Bruce married Daisy Estelle “Nee” Brummett. Bruce was a quiet man who was content to work all the days that God allowed him. He enjoyed a good game of golf. His greatest love was his wife and sons. He worked until his first retirement as a dye caster for Sara Lee and then retired as a metal worker at Emerson. He was a member of United Church of Christ.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Elizabeth Hutchens; wife, Daisy Hutchens; son, Joshua Spenser Hutchens; sister, Vicki Batten; brothers, Worth Hutchens Jr., David Hutchens, and James Hutchens; and grandson, Austin Hutchens.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his sisters, Mary Hinson and Susan Lear; brother, John Hutchens; sons, Bruce Hutchens Jr. and Christopher Hutchens; and grandchildren, Teddi Edwards, Kaila Hayes, Seth Hutchens, and Tristan Hutchens.
