Copperas Cove

Charles Wallace Vann, (SMSGT. Retired) 88 of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away peacefully at the Delaney in Georgetown, Texas.  On Monday, June 17, 2019.  He was born on March 21, 1931 in Bell County Texas.  Charles married Ollie Mae Prewitt on June 6, 1955, in Belton Texas, and had 52 years of wedded bliss before she passed.  He graduated from Killeen High School and went into the Air Force and retired after 21 years.  After serving his country honorably he went on to retire from the federal center in Lakewood Colorado.  Among his many accomplishments, he received a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Metropolitan State College.

He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling the world with his wife.  Among the many places traveled were, Africa, Australia and Alaska.  They also traveled throughout the USA and really enjoyed the Rocky Mountains in their own backyard.

Preceded in death by his wife Ollie Mae Vann, parents Eric and Leona Vann, brother Jimmie Vann, and sister Vida Paschal.

Survived by his four children Preston Vann, Barbara Whyte, Michael Vann and Gary Vann.  He had 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Resthaven Cemetery.
