Cordelia “Snookey, Mimi” Rea Hale, age 86 of Belton, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Sundara Senior Living in Round Rock, Texas. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with Arthur Hale officiating. Burial will be in North Belton Cemetery.
Cordelia was born on May 4, 1935, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Alton Luther and Virgie Spangler Robinson and lived in various cities in Texas before moving to Belton. She married Marvin Lee Hale in Belton, Texas on June 14, 1952. She was a homemaker and businesswoman. She provided care to many local children, running a registered day home for many years. She also owned Snookey’s Knit Nook, sharing her love of knitting, crocheting and needlework. She loved dogs, she bred and raised Chihuahuas, Pekinese, and Yorkies.
Cordelia was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Inez Shafer, and Fronie Watson; brother, Alton Robinson; husband, Marvin Hale; significant other, Ben Neman; sons, Scotty, and Louis Hale; and granddaughter, Cecilia Hale.
She is survived by her brother, Jimmy Robinson; sisters, Ruby Hawk and Peggy Fox; son, Arthur Hale and wife, Felecia of Belton; son, David Hale and wife, Niece of Granite Shoals; daughter, Betty Sanders and husband, Scott of Austin; grandson, Brad Hale and wife, Jennifer of Hutto; grandson, Curtis Hale and wife, Shelley of Pflugerville; grandson, Daniel Hale and wife, Brandy of Temple; grandson, Michael Hale of Waco; and grandson, James Hale of Waco; granddaughter, Christina Lee and husband, Jeremy of Corpus Christi; and great grandchildren, Bryson Hale, Elizabeth Hale, Brock Hale, Scottie Hale, Bethia Hale, Randy Hale, Mark Hale, Alex Hale, Serenity Hale, Cordelia Lee, and Anakin Lee.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Parkinson's Foundation, or a local animal shelter.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the funeral home.
