Mary Delores Parrott, aged 60, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024 after a 4 year battle with cancer. Born to Roberto Cortez Mendiola and Maria Hernandez Cortez, Delores was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose warmth and joy enriched the lives of all who knew her.
Delores is preceded in death by her father, Roberto Cortez Mendiola. She is survived by her beloved mother, Maria Hernandez Cortez; her husband, Donald Ray Parrott; her sons, David Earl Lovato Jr. and Devin Austin Lovato; her stepdaughters, Nila Breann Parrott and Halli Raeann Parrott; and her cherished grandchildren, Sebastian Alexander Lovato and Daniella Parrott. Mary also leaves behind her loving sister, Anjela C. Martinez; five brothers, Luis R. Cortez, Raymond Cortez, Ruben Cortez, Mauro Cortez, and Raul Cortez; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Delores dedicated her career to IT with the City of Austin, where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impact until her well-deserved retirement. Outside of work, Delores embraced a love for life’s simple pleasures—fishing, motorcycle rides, boating, camping, gardening, canning, and crafting. Her laughter, loud and beautiful, matched her radiant smile and her boundless positive spirit.
A true Christmas enthusiast, Delores brought joy and wonder to her family, especially through her over-the-top holiday decorations. She would spend weeks transforming her mother’s home into a magical, Hallmark-worthy winter wonderland, filling it with festive warmth and beauty.
