Doris Virginia Dickinson Burns

Doris Virginia Dickinson Burns, aged 84 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital. Family, friends, and others are invited to the Celebration of Life service at Trinity Church of Temple, 3501 Airport Road, Temple, Texas on Saturday, August 24, 2024, with a visitation starting at 10 am and service immediately following at 11 am. A private family burial has taken place at North Belton Cemetery.

Doris was born on May 30, 1940, in Earle, Arkansas, to Johnny Reece and Katherine Dickinson. She married Wilburn Ray Burns on December 10, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas. Doris was a proud resident of Temple and was the Pastor wife for 32 years at Trinity Church of Temple. Doris was very outgoing and loved her family and church family. She always had the ability to make anyone smile.

She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Ray Burns; older sister, Bonnie Mitchell; two daughters, Jana Rogers and husband, John, and Susan Dowell and husband, Ed; four grandchildren, Jennifer Whitley, Justin Rogers, Jessica Jackson and Mark Dowell; and five great grandchildren.
