Graveside services for Doris Evelyn Drake, 83, of Belton will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at McDowell Cemetery in Belton. Family and friends will be sharing stories of Doriss life.

Jesus called Doris home on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.

Doris was born in Belton on October 26, 1929 to Oliver Jack Drake and Gladys Pedigo. She married Lee Harwood Drake on October 2, 1948.

She was a homemaker, caregiver and mother for years. She worked periodically for Griggs Equipment in Belton for 18 years. Doris was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton.

Her home was always open to family, friends and animals. She was an avid gardener, always having plants growing and blooming around her house. Doris was able to spend a year with her daughter Bonnie in South Carolina, making memoires with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Memoires were made every day with her daughters Mitzie, Nona, and granddaughter Selena, especially on those trips to South Carolina with lots of laughter, singing and back seat driving.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Drake Lauffer and husband Mike of Pageland, SC, Nona Drake Pageler and husband Ron of Wolfe City, Tx, and Mitzie Drake Jeske and husband Kenneth of Morgans Point, Tx her sister, Wanda Zehr and husband Denny of Moody, Tx 6 grandchildren, Selena Drake, Melanie Lauffer Morris, Chris Pageler, Melissa Lauffer Meyers, Laura Pageler Casey Sparks, Sarah Pageler McCloud 14 great grandchildren, Matt Casey, Leah Casey, Elijah Casey, Gabriel Casey, Brendan Sparks, Khristen Lauffer, Nicholas Lauffer, James Meyers, Randy Morris, Rivers Morris, Michaela McCloud, Fischer McCloud, Chasity Haley, and Alexandria Schnell and one greatgreat grandchild, Jacob Daniel Yanez.

She is preceded in death by her husband parents 2 brothers, Billy Joe Drake and Delmer Bud Drake 1 sister, Clara Mae Shed one son, David Lee and one daughter Rebecca Lynn.

Family visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 3:005:00 p.m. at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
