Doris “Jeanie” Cosper Turnbo, age 87 of Belton, passed from this life Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Park Place Manor in Belton, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Friday, November 10, 2023, at Moody Cemetery.
Jeanie was born on February 7, 1936, to Jesse and Gracie Cosper in Youngsport, Texas. She attended church in Youngsport and was baptized in the Lampasas River. Jeanie married Arvil Glen Turnbo. She was a loving and wonderful mother to her 4 children. Her grandchildren refer to her as Mimi and if not all, most would say that she is a sweet, feisty, and free-spirited lady who just enjoyed life. She enjoyed preparing large meals, like a feast, for all her loved ones. Her favorite hobbies and interests were annual family reunions, rides in the country, listening to country music, going out dancing with friends, gardening, and reading.
Jeanie is preceded by her parents; loving husband, Arvil; brothers, Owen P. Cosper, and Alfred Cosper; sisters, Eloise Hood, and Thelma Gates; and grandchild, Arvil Turnbo.
She will be remembered by the legacy she leaves behind in her son, Jesse Turnbo; daughters, Glenna Curry Browning, Wanda Reid, and Marlene Hughes; her 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 5 great, great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses with Park Place Manor Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their faithful care, love, and support.
