Memorial Services for Dorthey Eggleston, 95, of Killeen, will be held Wednesday, May 24th 11 a.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton, with Fr. Justin Yawn officiating.
Mrs. Eggleston Passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at a local nursing facility. She was born to December 12, 1921 in Belton to Otis and Urma Barnes. She married Rudolph John Eggleston July 27, 1946 in Belton.
Dorthey was born and raised in central Texas and was a part of the Belton High School Graduating Class of 1940 and then attended University of Mary Harden Baylor. she worked at Camp Hood and at Scott & White Hospital before meeting Mr. Eggleston. She was a Methodist by faith. She loved counted cross stitching and working crossword puzzles. Dorthey is remembered as being a great cook as well . Most of all she was a wonderful mother that always supported her children in their school activities and everything they did in life. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Eggleston was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers; one sister; and one granddaughter, Memory Milea Myers.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Eggleston Flockhart, Connie Eggleston Myers and husband J. Blake; grandson, Chad Flockhart and wife Amanda; three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will take place at North Belton Cemetery Following services. Arrangements are under the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton.
