Earl Helm

Funeral services for Earl Helm, 81, of Temple will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday September 28, 2015 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. Burial will follow at Salado Cemetery. Rev. Chas McGregor and Rev. Rick Gillis will be officiating.
He passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at a local care center.
Earl was born on March 21, 1934 in Shoemaker, NM to Sidney "Scotty" and Elizabeth Gentry Helm. On May 8, 1958 he married Dorothy Jo Botts in Las Cruces, NM. He worked on a cattle and horse ranch in Las Cruces for 38 years before moving to Oklahoma where he purchased and ran his own cattle ranch until retirement.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Thornton and a son Lee Helm.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jo Helm of Temple; 2 sons, Earl Helm, Jr of Guymon, Ok and Billy Helm of Salado; 3 sisters, Margie Franzoy, Rosemary Neuenschwander and Ina Mendez; 9 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 m on Sunday, September 27,f 2015 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Altrusa Foundation of Temple.
