Eddie Witherspoon

Funeral services for Eddie Lee Witherspoon, 56, of Harker Heights will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Harker Heights with Pastor Jay Thomas officiating.
Mr. Witherspoon passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at a local hospital.
He was born September 17, 1959 in Thomasville, Alabama to the late Marion Shamburger and Maudie Mae Holt. He entered the US Army and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1994. He later owned several businesses including Texas Total Services, he also worked as a truck driver. Eddie married Katherine Yoma on September 15, 1992 in Louisiana. He was a former Gideon, member of the VFW in Harker Heights and member of First Baptist Church in Harker Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Marion Shamburger, Jr. and one sister, Earnestine Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Witherspoon; a son, Eddie Witherspoon, Jr.; 4 daughters, Crystal Broussard, Monica Witherspoon, Katie Garcia and Katelyn Witherspoon; 3 brothers, Freddy Witherspoon, Brian Shamburger and Jerry Shamburger; 4 sisters, Pauline Hosea, Sandra Shamburger, Maudie Lee Williams and Leslie Dixon; and 2 grandchildren, Genesis Broussard and Aiden Broussard.
The family will receive visitors at the church for one hour prior to the funeral.
Services have been entrusted to Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
