Services for Edwina Ham, 98, of Belton, formerly of Andrews, will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Belton, Tx with Rev. Dr. Craig Taylor officiating. The casket will be open for viewing 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the chapel prior to the service.
Burial will be in Andrews, Texas at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
Mrs. Ham died Friday, October 31, 2014 at her home after suffering a stroke the previous Saturday. She was born January 24, 1916 in Skytook, OK. to Frank and Pearl Brantley. She married C. J. Ham in 1935 and they lived all over the oil field in west Texas, where he worked for Humble Oil Refining Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews. A fulltime homemaker while her children were in school, Mrs. Ham worked in Andrews as a cook at an elementary school and at the Andrews hospital, and as a clerk in a local gift shop.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 27, 1974, and by a grandson, David Ham on November 14, 1987.
She outlived her brother and three sisters. Survivors include two sons, Clarence Ham of Belton and his wife Sue, and Ray Ham of Roanoke and his wife Betty 5 grandchildren: Trisha Taylor, John Ham, Duane Ham, Christy Thompson, and Daryl Ham 9 great grandchildren and 4 greatgreat grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make donations to their favorite charities.
