Richard Ellis Adams, 79, of Belton passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 while surrounded by his beloved family. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2 PM at North Belton Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
Ellis was born in Wilkinsburg, PA to Henry and Dorothy Adams on May 3, 1939.
Mr. Adams has lived in the central Texas area since the mid 70's. He was stationed at Ft. Hood while in the United States Army. He spent 28 years in the Army as a cook, which was something he was very proud of. After his retirement from the Army he began another long career with the Texas Department of Corrections. In his free time, he loved to go fishing with friends and family whenever he could. Of course, Ellis was a great cook and always enjoyed cooking for any occasion. He also loved motorcycles and rode whenever he had time. Ellis had many fond memories of camping trips and other great trips with his family. Mr. Adams attended the Men's Breakfast at Keys Valley Baptist Church. Ellis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Adams is preceded in by his beloved wife, Sharon Adams; parents; and a son, Ellis Adams.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughters, Tabatha Hogges, Patricia Adams; son Bob Lytle; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
