Emilia Rodriguez

Emilia Martinez Rodriguez, 77, of Moody passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 8, 1939 in Lytle, Texas to the late Luis and Cruz (Ybarra) Martinez.
Emilia was a loving and dedicated homemaker for her family. She enjoyed cooking large meals to share with her family and friends. Her hobbies were sewing and crafting. She made most of her children's clothing and lovingly stitched many quilts to keep them warm.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of over 37 years, Julio Rodriguez; her sons, Rudy Guerrero, Jr and wife Angie, Reynaldo Guerrero, Jose Guerrero and Samuel Rodriguez; daughters, Elida Martinez and husband Sergio, Sophia Mojica and husband Andrew, Janie Padilla and husband Abel, Mary Lou Guerrero and Rose Ricks and husband Steve; siblings, Ramon Martinez, Frank Martinez and wife Connie, Louis Y. Martinez, Jr. and Eva Puckett and husband James. She is also survived by 17 beloved grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Cruz Martinez and a sister, Marcellina Martinez.
Funeral services for Emilia will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Pastor Keith Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the chapel.
