Faith Suzanne Rothermel, PharmD., BCPS, of Belton, TX died peacefully at home surrounded by her four older sisters and family on November 4, 2017 following a brief illness. She was born on April 12, 1963 in Elmira, NY to Joseph Jackson Rothermel and Daphne Land Rothermel. She graduated from Corning-Painted Post West High School in 1981. She received a BA in chemistry from the University of Rochester in 1985. She then became a professional braider working the horse show circuit throughout the eastern United States. In 2000 to prepare for pharmacy school, she resumed studies at Corning Community College, graduating as valedictorian of her class in 2001. In May 2004 she earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the Albany College of Pharmacy, graduating summa cum laude. She then completed a Specialty Residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital (SWMH) in Temple, TX (2004-2005) and subsequently practiced hospital pharmacy in the Investigational Drugs, Operating Room, and Intravenous Drugs Preparation decentralized pharmacies at SWMH until the present. She was named "Pharmacist of the Year" for 2017 for Baylor Scott & White Healthcare.
Faith is survived by her four sisters, Pamela (Mark) Cowan of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; Carol Mann of Mystic, CT; Diana (Richard) Kemp of Virginia Beach, VA and Beverly (Blaise) Ferrandino of Bedford, TX. Her nine nieces and nephews are Joseph (Michelle) Cowan, Rebecca Cowan, Faith (Shawn) Sonnema, Jason (Laura) Pere, Melody Pere, Tommy Mann, Josie (Howard) Little, Nick Ferrandino and John Ferrandino. She has four great nieces/nephews: Gienah and Noam Sonnema, Ellie Cowan and Mikael Little. She is also survived by her cousin, Deborah McGuinness (James Benedict) of Latham, NY. She was predeceased by her parents.
Faith was known for her kindness, generosity and ready smile. She was passionate about her pharmacy practice, her garden and her canine companions, Jimbo, Islay and Barley and liked nothing better than to watch her dogs compete. She was active in the Heart of Texas Retriever Club, serving as treasurer for many years.
A visitation will be held at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, 503 N. Main St., Belton, TX on Saturday, November 11, 5-7 pm with a memorial service on Sunday, November 12, at 3 pm.
