Frances Ann "Fran" Viscarra, of Harker Heights, Texas, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 peacefully at her sister's home.
Fran was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on December 22, 1953 to Jesus B. Viscarra and Esther N. Viscarra. Upon graduating from Alamogordo High School she had a fulfilling career as a cosmetologist. Fran later moved into management at Sally's Beauty supply in San Diego, California. As a manager in Sally's she won multiple awards for achieving a "million dollar store".
While in San Diego, Fran met and married Keith Schamens. They later divorced. They shared two children Kylie and Trevor Schamens.
Fran then retired and moved to Denton, Texas to spend time and care for her brother Ralph Viscarra whom she was very close to.
Fran later moved to Harker Heights, Texas to be near her sister. She had end stage renal failure. She was appreciated for her caring, giving and humoristic nature. Fran enjoyed coordinating her dialysis brunch group when they were able to make it. Fran thought of the staff and fellow patients at the Fresenius Center as her extended family.
To her friends and family, Fran was the life of the party. They looked forward to all visits from her knowing they would have a fun time and hated seeing her leave. Fran was generous to a fault. She was very loving, giving and attentive with her family and friends. She was the funny, jovial personality who would make us laugh even in the direst times. Fran loved listening to music, going to movies, and helping others. She especially loved her little four legged companion, Coco.
Fran is survived by her step- children Kylie Schamens, grandson Caleb of San Diego, California, Trevor (Michelle) Keill-Schamens, grandsons Mason and Tyler of San Marcos, California; sisters Rebbecca (Dale) Hagins of Belton, Texas, Susan (Daniel) Parmenter of Onalaska, WI.; brothers Harry (Elisa) Viscarra of Sierra Vista, Arizona, George (Paige) Viscarra of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Stephen (Janet) Viscarra of Lawton, Oklahoma, Joseph (Linda) Viscarra of El Cajon, California; brother in-law Daniel Rivera of El Paso, Texas; sister-in-law Helen Reno Viscarra of Alamogordo, New Mexico
She was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Esther Viscarra, sister Clara Rivera, 3 brothers, Richard Andrew I, Richard Andrew II, and Ralph Viscarra.
A mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church on Sunday January 7th 2018 at 10:30 am. Family and friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of life at St. John's Parish at 1:00pm.
