Freddie Ybanez, 75 of Morgan’s Point Resort, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton. Burial will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 2 pm, following the service.
Freddie was born on May 28, 1946, to Andres Ybanez and Dora De Holloz in Itasca, Texas. He loved to work with children, even hosting a weeklong camp during summer break. Freddie enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alejandro Ybanez; brother, Louis Ybanez; and sister, Delia Ybanez.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Ybanez; brother, Albert Ybanez; sisters, Linda Scoope, Mary Ann Jacobs, Mary Jane Wilburn, and Patricia Warren; sons, Stephen Ybanez, and Robert Rubiano; daughters, Arlinda Ybanez-Kim, and Kathleen Barrett; grandchildren, Michelle Romualdo-Ybanez, Patricia Gordon, Keanu Kim, Brooklyn Ybanez, Aiden Kim, Jessica Hernandez, Kimberly Ybanez, Joshua Brandani, Elizabeth Brandani, Grace Barrett, Jonah Kai Kim, Ethan Kim, Keana Rubiano, Sasha Rubiano, Isabelle Rubiano, Brittany Rubiano, and Francis Rubiano; and great grandchildren, Joe Ybanez, Mateo Romauldo-Ybanez, Adrin Hernandez, Aiden Hernandez, Camila Romauldo-Ybanez, Carson Palmer, and Isabell Gordon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Baylor Scott & White Cancer Center and especially the 8th floor Cancer ward, Dr. Allen Barkis (family physician), and AccentCare Hospice for their excellent care.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm with a rosary recited at 6 pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
