Frieda Self

Funeral services for Frieda L. Self, 83, of Georgetown, formerly of Belton, will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery.
Mrs. Self passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at a Georgetown hospital.
She was born June 4, 1933 in Llano to the late James and Laura (Buchanan) Gavit. She attend school in Llano and Sweetwater. She married Maurice Self in November of 1952 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Frieda was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Maurice Self of Belton; 2 sons, Kenneth Self of Las Vegas, NV and Mark Self of Belton; 3 daughters, Carol Hyde of Ballston Spa, NY; Kay Self of Belton and Patti Self and husband Grady Dean of Pflugerville; 2 sisters, Lou Locks of Zephyr and Betty Shifflett of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren, Michelle Self, Laura Self, Jessica Hyde, Joshua Hyde, Jeff Self, Vance Self and John Self; and 2 great-grandchildren, Jadyn Jones and Wade Twomey.
Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Laura Gavit; 5 brothers, Damon Gavit, Harvey Gavit, Walter Gavit, Alfred Gavit and Vernon Gavit; and one sister, Josie Eaton.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, January 9, 2016 at the funeral home.
