Gerald Nilsen

Gerald Alan Nilsen, 72, native of Chicago, Illinois, resided in Harker Heights, Texas passed from this life on August 11, 2016 in the company of his loving family. Gerald was born on February 26, 1944 to Harvey and Adeline Nilsen in Oak Park, Illinois.

Gerald selflessly enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in 1966 and achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. Jerry served as a dedicated patriot to his country, loving husband, committed father, and generous grandfather. He cherished every day of over 44 years married with his soulmate, Irene Jennifer Nilsen. Gerald's legacy thrives through his adoring wife, as well as through his children, Jennifer Nilsen and Karl Nilsen, Karl's wife Kathryn Mary Nilsen, and his grandchildren Bruce and Clark.
