Gladys V. Waters-Finto, age 87 of Austin, passed from this life Saturday, October 28, 2023, at home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, November 3, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.
Gladys was born on February 1, 1936, to the late Jesse Waters and Caldona Chrisner-Waters in Robertson County, Texas. She worked for the Department of Public Safety for 27 years.
Gladys loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines Choir. She was also a member of the Church of Christ. Gladys was an example of strength to many, volunteering as a speaker for Al-Anon. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 48 years, James “Jimmy” L. Finto; and brothers, Richard “Sonny” Waters, and James Waters.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Charles D. Finto, and wife, Josie, and James “Jim” Finto; daughter, Elizabeth Morgan; sister, Corine Thomison; brothers, Robert Lee Waters, and Herman Waters; grandchildren, Travis Finto, Fabien Yannis, Sophia Sollea, and Teodor V. Finto; and great grandchildren, Jermaine, Jacobe, Jakari, and Zaire.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
