Grace Weaver

July 1, 1922 — December 5, 2013

Grace Elizabeth Schneider Weaver, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away December 5, 2013 in Temple, Texas. She was born in Ft. Worth on July 1, 1922 to John and Martha Schneider, and graduated from Polytechnic High School in Ft. Worth in 1939. Following a brief career as a comptometer operator, she married James H. Weaver on September 23, 1944. After WWII, they made their home in Ft. Worth and started their family.

In 1947 they had the first of six sons, and eventually settled in Beavercreek, Ohio where she was active in the United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, was active in United Methodist Women and sponsored UMYF for many years. She served as President of the Homemakers Club and was selected as Homemaker of the Year. Her family was always her main priority, and she took great joy in being with them. After her sons left home, she and James selected Belton as their retirement community. They became active in First United Methodist Church in Belton and always enjoyed the fellowship of the Bell County Sportsmans Club.

Survivors include Jim and Sue Weaver of Austin Bill and Mary Weaver of Rock Hill, South Carolina Richard and Sheila Weaver of Belton Ted and Pam Weaver of Brownsburg, Indiana Jon and Janet Weaver of Nashville, Tennessee Dan and Connie Weaver of Austin 17 grandchildren 15 greatgrandchildren and more extended family.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Belton at 11am on Saturday, December 14th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 205 E. 3rd Avenue, Belton, TX 76513 or to the charity of your choice.
