On February 26, 2018, Ima Gene Berzley was called to her heavenly home at the age of 77. She was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at a local hospital. Ima was born May 7, 1941 in Belton to Gene and Leona (Brown) Ballard.
Ima married Jack Henry Berzley on August 30, 1967 in Belton. Ima enjoyed learning new things and as a military wife she pursued her college education wherever they were stationed. She earned an Associate's degree in Childhood Phycology and a Bachelor's in Theology. Ima was passionate about her ministries and was a founding member and minister at Cornerstone Outreach for many years. Her compassionate heart and desire to help others lead her to open the Nolanville Food Pantry which helps to feed hundreds of families each month. Ima was a great humanitarian for the needy and lived her life by the words spoken in the Bible verse of Matthew 25:35-40.
Ima was a loving wife, devoted mother, beloved grandmother and tireless caregiver to many. She enjoyed reading, learning, scrapbooking, card making and stamping. But most of all she loved to serve the Lord and spend time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jack H. Berzley; sons, Mark D. Poirier and Jack H. "Jacky" Berzley; daughters, Marlene Miller, Darlene Laminack, Marie Yearwood, Sherry Hall and Terry Agema; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and an effort to carry on her legacy of helping others please consider making a donation the Nolanville Food Pantry, 200 N. Main, Nolanville, Texas 76559.
Graveside services for Ima will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Moffat Cemetery with Jimmy Garner officiating. Following the service please join the family for food and fellowship at Cornerstone Community Outreach Church, 5081 Dog Ridge Rd., Belton, Texas.
