Jack Henry “Papaw” Berzley, age 82 of Belton, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Moffatt Cemetery in Moffatt, Texas.
Jack was born on August 29, 1939 to Ora Leon and Elsie Emma (Tanner) Berzley in Greenville, Michigan. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country until retirement in 1980. He then was a truck driver for McGuire Transportation until he retired a second time in 2015. He married Ima Gene Berzley on August 30, 1967.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Ora Leon and Elsie Emma (Tanner) Berzley; wife, Ima Gene Berzley; brother, Robert Riley Berzley; and sister, Barbara Jean Sanders.
He is survived by his children, Marlene Wood of Belton, Mark Poirier of Belton, Jack Berzley Jr. of Belton, Darlene Laminack of Nolanville, Sheri Hall of Florida, Marie Yearwood of Belton, and Teri Agema of Michigan. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
