James Bostick

James Russell Bostick, 72, passed away on June 26, 2013 at his home in Heidenheimer surrounded by family. Services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2pm at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.

James was born in Holland, Texas on January 18, 1941 to Lowell and Shirley Brinlee Bostick. He graduated from Temple High School in 1959. He began working for Goodyear at the age of 17 and worked his way up the ladder to be one of the youngest store managers at the age of 24. He continued working for Goodyear until he opened his own store, Bostick Tire on Ave M, in January of 1975. He later also owned and operated James Motors. After the 38 years he retired, closing both businesses on December 31, 2012

He married Margaret Bradford in October of 1977 she preceded him in death on December 17, 2011. Together they enjoyed working on the farm and occasional trips to Shreveport. James also enjoyed going to auctions, he was always looking for a good deal. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved horses and was an active member of the American Quarter horse Association.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 34 years Margaret, one sister Modine Cabaniss and one nephew Harold Wayne Cabaniss.

He is survived by five daughters, Maurine Turner of Lancaster, CA Kathleen Vasek of Belton Patricia Bravo of Port Lavaca Eileen Stephens of Rosebud and Kara Wittig of Whitehall, Pa one son, Adam Bostick of Kyle one stepdaughter, Ann Bostick of Heidenheimer Sixteen grandchildren: Tim, Ty and Garrett Turner of Lancaster, CA Jeremy, Justin, Kolton and Ashton Niersmann of Belton Alicia Bravo of Port Lavaca Sarah Havard of Port Neches Valerie Bravo of Temple Keaton, Brinlee and Chelsea Stephens of Rosebud Chase Wittig of Whitehall, Pa and Justin and McKenzie Bostick of Kyle one stepgrandchild Jamie Bostick of Heidenheimer and two greatgrandchildren: Trysten Neirsmann of Temple and Rilynn Stephens of Rosebud.

The family will gather at the home of his daughter, Kathleen Vasek, at 601 South Wall Street in Belton immediately after the service.
