James F. Lynch III, known affectionately as Jim to his family and friends, passed from this life Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the age of 72 in Rogers, Texas. Services will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with visitation starting at 9:30 am and funeral beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Bellwood Cemetery in Temple.
Jim was born on July 9, 1951, to James and Kathryne (Bentley) Lynch in Houston, Texas. He led an admirable life and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and a love for his family. He retired after many years working as a Boiler Maker and Ironworker. Through his work, he showcased his skill and commitment to his craft. In addition to his career accomplishments, Jim proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His selflessness and bravery during his military service are commendable and will forever be appreciated by a grateful nation. Jim enjoyed cooking and spending time outdoors. He especially loved working in his yard. Above all else, Jim cherished his family and friends. He had a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews whom he adored dearly. Their laughter filled his life with joy, and he took great delight in sharing in their milestones and accomplishments. Jim's beloved dog, Pansy, held a special place in his heart as well. Their companionship brought him immense happiness, love, and comfort throughout their time together.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William “Bill” Lynch.
Survivors include his brothers, Kenneth Lynch of Belton, and Ray Lynch of Rogers; and sister, Sandra Eveleigh and husband, Red of Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a hospice organization of your choice, or to the American Cancer Society.
