Janiya Moody

Janiya Shaundra' Moody was born on March 21, 2001, to Aleesha Monique Jimcoily and Deundra Moody, at Darnell Army Community Hospital, in Fort Hood, Texas. Janiya transitioned peacefully to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at her home surrounded by family.

Janiya was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Verline Jimcoily Camese, her great-grandparents, Milton and Patsy Gladys Jimcoily, and great-aunt, Lois Jeanette Jimcoily.

Janiya was a very strong, determined, courageous young lady. Janiya was reared in a God fearing home. She knew that in the midst of what she was dealing with, her Faith in God got her through. Janiya accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized on July 19, 2009 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Ironton, Louisiana, by Pastor Haywood Johnson, Jr.

Janiya attended Shoemaker High School where she was a junior. She loved to knit, dance, bake and cook. She had a bubbly spirit, humble personality, and caring and giving heart even in the midst of her illness.

Janiya favorite bible verse was 2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by Faith, not by sight", and her favorite song was "The battle is not yours, it's the Lords," by Yolanda Adams.

Janiya is survived by her parents, Aleesha Monique Jimcoily and Deundra Moody. Her sisters, Mikayla Jimcoily, Rakiya (her twin), Kiera, Katja, and Deja Moody, Miraja Garner. Her brother, Amari Moody of San Antonio, Texas. Her grandfathers, Barry LaFrance of New Orleans, LA, and Joe Bussey, grandmother, Tammy Moody and Fancy Pace, step-grandfather, Eddie Camese Jr., and great grandfathers, Luther Vines and Simon Moody.
Her uncles Eddie Camese III (Morgan), Pastor Haywood Johnson Jr. (Gail), Pastor Nathaniel Jimcoily (Michelle), Minister Gary Jimcoily (Kathy). And Joseph Jimcoily (Joan), and Micheal Tucker. Her aunts Burnedette Johnson, Laverne Black, Brandy LaFrance, Ashley Moody, Valerie Moody, and Telecia Tucker Godparents, Horace "Mike" Johnson and Dequetta Anderson. A host of devoted cousins, great aunts, other relatives, family and friends. Also, pastor, officers, and members of Ministries of Hope Church, Temple, Texas, St. Paul Baptist Church, Ironton, La, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, New Orleans, LA.

You are invited to attend a celebration of life on Tue. Jan 2, 2018 at Ministries of Hope Church, 2 N General Bruce Dr. Temple, Texas 76504 at 11:00 a.m. Supt. Demetrius Beachum, officiating.

Interment will follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery,11463 State Highway 195 Killeen, Texas 76542.
