Jean Brown Cromer Higginson, 94, passed away in Bryan, Texas on October 27, 2015.
Graveside services with be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Salado Cemetery, Salado, Texas with the Rev. Bob Bliss of St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, Salado, officiating.
Jean was born in Houston, Texas on September 23, 1921, the daughter of Ruth Berry Brown and Stephen Arthur Brown. She grew up on the family farm outside of Houston and spent her summers in Salado.
She is descended from pioneer Salado families; Blaylock, Berry and Brown.
She married Emmette Lewis Cromer and had one son Stephen Lee Cromer. She later married Brig. Gen. George Mercer Higginson, USAF.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, her son, her husband, Brig. Gen. Higginson and her brother, Charles Stephen Brown.
She is survived by her sister, Ann Brown Dudley Smith and husband Cullen of Waco; her step-son George David Higginson and wife Christina of College Station; niece, Terri Brown Allison and husband Randy of College Station; close family member, Lisa Evans; of Houston; niece, Mary Lou Dudley Rohan, of Henderson, Nevada; nephew, John Grant Dudley and wife Teresa of Waco; and many great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins and friends.
