Joe Frank Rebovich, age 75 of Houston, journeyed home to God Sunday, May 10, 2020, Mother's Day. He is reunited with his wife, Margot and his precious son, Joey. His journey has allowed him to once again, be in the embrace of his mother, Velma Chrystine (Berry) Rebovich; grandparents, Frank and Blanch Berry; cousin, Anne Stringer Drennan; and those who have filled the eternal house of God.
From his hometown, of Salado to the big city of Houston, Joe shaped the lives of so many people. Educated in the Belton school system and Baylor University, Joe chose to give back to the community first as a law enforcement officer, then with the F.D.I.C., and ultimately as a teacher and coach. Joe's strength and confidence are the very qualities that define his life. From the young ladies he coached on the volleyball court to the friends and family he blessed with his "no nonsense" attitude... Joe has left a lasting impression of courage and perseverance.
After a very well fought fight with Cancer, Joe decided to go home! He decided to join Joey and celebrate Mother’s Day with his loving wife, Margot.
The only thing that died that day was the cancer!
Joe lives!
Joe is survived by his family, friends, and former students.
Rites of Christian Burial will take place at 1 pm Wednesday, May 20, 22020 at Salado Cemetery in Salado, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton is in charge of arrangements.
