John Cast

Funeral services for John Harvey Cast, 80, of Belton will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton with Chaplain Tim Rudolph officiating. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.
Mr. Cast passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at a local care facility.
He was born August 1, 1937 in Brownsfield to the late John Harvey and Fay Dean (Brown) Cast. He worked as a plumber until his retirement. John was a member and former president of the Temple Aero Modelers. He enjoyed sharing his expertise and love of flying with others and was always willing to teach someone how to build or fly a model airplane. Also, as an avid fisherman, he was a member of the Round Rock Bass Club. One of his greatest accomplishments as a fisherman was winning a boat at a tournament.
He is survived by his son, Michael W. Cast of Beaumont; brother, Dale E. Cast; sister, Shirley Connell; 1 grandson, Joshua Adam Byrd Sr. and 1 great-grandson, Joshua Adam Byrd, Jr.. He is also survived by his many beloved nieces, nephews and family members and his very good friend Joe Collins and his family.

The family will receive visitors from 12-2 pm on Saturday before the service.
