John Wallingsford

John Marvin Wallingsford, age 78 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Davilla Cemetery.

John was born on December 4, 1941 to Henry Everett and Ruby Kate (Lance) Wallingsford in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Loraine High School with the Class of 1960. John worked for United Parcel Service and retired after 26 years. He was also a proud United States Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. John was a devoted member of several church congregations over his lifetime and made long-lasting memories and friendships along the way. Recently, he enjoyed making his church home at Davilla Assembly of God.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brothers, Wayne and James Wallingsford; son, Jeff Smith and wife, Angela; son, Barry Smith and wife, Rebecca; 3 granddaughters, Kendall, India, and Courtnee; grandson, Kameron; and great granddaughter, Kinley.

A time of visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Monday, June 29, 2020 in the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton.
