John Wilson

Graveside services for John Wayne Wilson, 79, of Temple will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.

Mr. Wilson passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at a local hospital.

John Wayne was born on November 30, 1932 in Holland to James Elmer and Louise Margaret Dulaney Wilson. He married Sandra Gauntt on March 20, 1970 in Temple. John Wayne worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad for 43 years. He was in the U.S. Navy and a Korean War Veteran. John Wayne was a Masonic Lodge and Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks member more than 20 years. He was also a member of the Little River Catfish Association. John Wayne was a member of the Little River United Methodist Church for 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of Temple 3 sons, David, Vince and Rex 3 daughters, Patti, Sheryl and Nancy one sister, Rita Moon 16 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Friday, November 23, 2012 from 6:008:00 pm at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
