Katreena Luella Richesin of Belton passed away in her sleep on December 25, 2015, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas M. Richesin Sr. Luella was born on July 1, 1923 in Bandera, Texas to Walter and Bertie Doss. Luella is survived by two children, Thomas M. Richesin Jr. and Patricia Woods, as well as five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was a member of Miller Heights Baptist Church. Her life centered around the Lord Jesus, her family, and friends. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, December 29, at North Belton Cemetery at 1500 North Main, Belton, Texas, at eleven o'clock.
Luella loved traveling with her husband, making quilts, watching birds, reading books, going to the senior center, and many other activities that showed her love of life. She became a nurse at the age of fifty. Luella spent her life caring for others until her health was gone. She lived in Belton all of her adult life. She thought the world of her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who called her Gran Gran (a name she cherished).
Luella‘s children and granddaughter Sharon would like to give special thanks to her dear friends Ima Locklear, Mary Schmidt, and Betty Holton (deceased), her neighbor Bill Bailey, her brother and his wife Damon and Artie Doss, her niece Ruth Smith, her church friends Glenn and Mary Ann Maddox, and others who were so attentive to her in her homebound years.
