Funeral services for Kenneth Donald Aycock, 77, of Moody will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Moody Church of Christ in Moody. Rev. James Haney will be officiating. Burial will follow at Moffat Cemetery.
He passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mr. Aycock was born in Moffat on April 5, 1938 to the late Edgar and Ona Mae (Halpain) Aycock. He graduated from Moody High School in 1956 and received a degree in agriculture from Texas A & M in 1960. He married Shirley Bruce on October 18, 1963 in Temple. Kenneth was an agriculture teacher in Rio Vista for 4 years and in Buckholts for 28 years. During his teaching career he received many awards including the Who's Who Among America's Teachers Award in 1996 and Central Texas Workforce Preparation Award in 2002. Mr. Aycock was an admired teacher who left an everlasting impression on many of his students.
A true outdoorsman, Kenneth was an avid hunter, he also loved fishing and farming. He will be remembered as a Godly man who loved his family. He was a member of the Moody Church of Christ where he served the Lord for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Virgil Aycock.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Aycock; 2 sons, Brian Aycock and wife Jerri Kay and Ken Aycock and wife Monica both of Moody; 1 daughter, Lori Mynar and husband Brian of Abbott; 2 brothers, Wilburn Aycock and wife Betty and Edgar Aycock and wife Sue; 1 sister, Mallie Ann Chatham and husband Gary; 7 grandchildren, Cindy Remini and husband Chase, Joshua Aycock, Brandon Honea, Jarryd Honea, Matthew Aycock, Taylor Aycock and Makenzie Aycock and 1 great grandson, Cooper Brian Remini.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the chapel of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
