Kevin Coats

Funeral services for Kevin Coats, 54, of Belton will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Foundation United Methodist Church in Temple.
Kevin passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 in Temple.
He was born June 28, 1962 at Forbes Air Force Base, Topeka, Kansas to Lester M. Coats & Caroll Jean Wilson. Kevin graduated from Temple High School and attended TSTI in Waco. He married Carolyn Habel on May 23, 1992. Kevin was an active member of the Belton 4H & FFA Booster Club, Belton High School Athletic Booster Club, and Bell County Go Texan Committee. He was a former Belton Chamber of Commerce member and Jaycee. He also coached Little League Baseball in Belton and Boys and Girls Basketball at the Belton Christian Youth Center. He worked as a Media Consultant for Varsity News Network. Kevin was a member of the Foundation United Methodist Church in Temple.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester M. Coats.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Coats; a son, Tanner Lee Coats; 2 daughters, Marrisa Dianne Coats and Makayla Nicole Coats all of Belton; his mother, Caroll Coats of Belton; a brother, Lowell Coats of Temple and a sister, Debbie Yates of Midland.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Bell County 4H, Belton FFA or Bell County Youth Fair and Livestock Show.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Harper Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton.
