Larry Lemmons

Larry L. Lemmons, age 73, of Belton, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Belton Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton. A private burial will follow.

Larry Leonard Lemmons was born on September 11, 1945 at King's Daughters Hospital in Temple, Texas to James Edgar (Ed) Lemmons and Augustine Lemmons of Belton.

He was a 1964 graduate of Belton High School and attended Temple Junior College. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Larry was employed from 1965 to 2007 at Fort Hood, Texas, having retired from DOIM in 2007 after 42 years of service. He also was employed part-time for 25 years at Britt Drug Company in Belton, he was a longtime member of the Belton Church of Christ.

He married Linda Sue Sumerford on November 14, 1970. She predeceased him in 2004. He married Deborah Lee Lovorn Copeland on September 6, 2008 in Belton.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Kevin Lemmons (Michelle) of Hurst, Texas; daughter, Lisa Quick (Billy) of Oakalla, Texas, 5 grandchildren, Ryan Lemmons, Zoë Lemmons, Karis Lemmons, Tristan Quick, Quinn Quick and a new grandson due in summer. He was also stepfather to Deborah's 3 children, Sherry Morgan, Thomas Copeland, and Chance Copeland, and 8 step-grandchildren, Micah, Mindy, Emily, Makenzie, Cassidy, Kayleigh, Kaitlyn, and Yvaine. He is also survived by his brother, Bernie Lemmons (Kathy) of Temple, and his sister, Eleanor Bosl (Earl) of Temple, and several nieces and nephews.
