Services for Laura Mae Peters will be at 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Miller Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Johnson and Rev. Justin Childers officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson Valley Cemetery in Little River.
Laura was born on July 18, 1924 to the late Clarence Raymond and Lola Maude Cummings Deaver at Tolar, Texas. She married Bert Stanley Peters on September 8, 1950 who was in the Army and retired after 28 years as a Sergeant First Class. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a faithful member of Miller Heights Baptist Church and helped with the Helping Hands for many years and when they opened the store New to You it was named after Laura.
Survivors include her three sons, Donald Eugene Peters of Australia, Carl Dean Peters of Bacliff, Billy Ray Peters of Azle a daughter, Mary Evelyn Bales of Belton two sisters, Doris Havens of Belton, Shirley Rogers of Kingston, OK twelve grandchildren eighteen greatgrandchildren seven greatgreatgrandchildren.
The family request that memorials may be sent to the Senior Adults at Miller Heights Baptist Church or to the Helping Hands.
There will be a visitation from 68 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
