Lela Ballard

Lela Mae Shouse Ballard passed away on Tuesday evening, January 21, 2014, in Carlsbad, NM.
Lela Mae was born on March 7, 1920 in Lindale, TX to the late James H. and Ovie Iola Ward Shouse. On March 9, 1938, she wed her beloved husband, Roy Ballard, of 54 years. Together they raised a family of 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 greatgreat grandson.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Roy, her daughter, Viola Marie, her sisters, Evelyn Brown and Willa Mae Crawford, and her brothers Homer and Raymond Shouse.
She is survived by an awesome legacy of love and faith, which includes her sons and their wives, Lee and Debby Ballard of Boerne, TX and Robert and Betty Ballard of Elgin, TX her daughters Bonnie Hazen of Spring Hill, FL and Libby and her husband Billy Johnston of Carlsbad, NM.
The celebration of her life will begin with visitation at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 25, at the Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton, and a Memorial Service at 2:00 Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton, TX.
