Services for Lewis Edward "Ed" Tanner, 80, of Belton will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 21 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Chapel in Belton. Burial will follow at Wilson Valley Cemetery in Little River. Pastor Arthur Washburn will be officiating.
Mr. Tanner passed away Sunday, January 18 at a local care center.
Ed was born on July 24, 1934 in Coryell County to John Audrey and Lily (Delano) Tanner. He was the owner of a trucking business as well as the Founder of Tanner Roofing. He was a member of the Belton Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years and he coached Little League Baseball for over 20 years. Ed was a lifelong resident of the area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Tanner in September 2014.
Survivors include 3 sons, Eddy Tanner of Belton, Ronnie Tanner of Gatesville and Robert Tanner of Belton; 1 sister, Mary Blair of Belton; 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and on great-great grandson.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel.
