Belton- Linda Kaye (Simonton) Doughty, 69, of Temple, TX lost her battle with cancer while surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. She passed peacefully from her life here to her saviors hands. Linda was born on October 5, 1946 in Temple, TX to F.D. (Sam) and Rubye (Johnson) Simonton.
Linda was born, raised and lived a significant part of her life in Temple Texas. She Attended Temple High School and graduated in 1965. Linda worked for many years at the Scott & White Hospital Coffee Shop and Cafeteria, serving many patients, visitors, and staff members alike, where she was affectionately known as "Lovely Linda". No nickname could ring truer as her radiant smile was a gift to others.
Linda's greatest source of joy was growing up in a large loving family with 5 siblings which made for many warm gatherings. There was plenty of laughter and love to go around. Linda's grandchildren and great-grand daughter lovingly knew her as "Mimi".
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Mr and Mrs FD Simonton.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa (Hatcher) Lange and husband Dana of Belton, TX; son, Randy Doughty Jr. of Navasota, TX; brothers, Don Simonton of Belton, TX, Terry Simonton and wife Estelle of Heidenheimer, TX; sisters, Pegi (Simonton) Jones of Belton, TX, Nancy (Simonton) Spivey and husband Marvin of Granite Shoals, TX, Cathy (Simonton) Harris and husband Clint of Coeur d'Alene, ID; grandchildren, Ryan Smith of Oenaville, TX, Cameron Smith of Lubbock, TX, Madison Smith of Belton, TX; and great-granddaughter, Bailey Smith of Oenaville, TX and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A time of Visitation will be held from 2-3 PM on Friday November 20, 2015 at Harper-TalasekFuneral Home located at 503 N. Main St. Belton, TX 76513. Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton.
