Luanne Ray

March 22, 1942 — May 22, 2017

And God gained an Angel.
Luanne Cline Ray peacefully went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of May 23rd after a short illness.
Luanne is survived by her husband A.C. Ray, her daughter Nikki Ray and 2 cousins; Judy Cline Harrison and Patricia Cline Holmes. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Lenna Pearl Cline and a son Wesley Ray.
Luanne - Lu to her husband of almost 55 years, Mom to her Daughter, Lu, Lu-Lu or just Luanne to family and her many friends, will be deeply missed. Although she will be missed here on earth, she will be watching over us all from Heaven.
A lifelong resident of Belton, Luanne grew up in the Cline Brothers drug store that her dad and uncle owned. She was a 3rd generation graduate from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, following in her grandmothers, mothers and aunt's footsteps. She graduated with a degree in Social Work.
Luanne loved her horses and her work with Child Protective Services and Placements in her early years. She and her husband rode and showed Western Pleasure for many years, they made lifelong friends doing this. She also enjoyed her job placing children with their "Forever" families. When she and A.C. decided to adopt children of their own, they gave up the horse shows. She was a stay at home mom until her children started school, and then she went to work for Belton ISD. She worked there until it was time for her to retire. Even after she retired from the BISD, she worked the gates for many sporting events for years to come. Her favorite of the sports was the Belton Baseball team.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to University of Mary-Hardin Baylor music program. A program her family has been a part of for many generations.
