Lucia Tapia

Ms. Lucia Avila Tapia, age 76 of Belton passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5-7 PM with a rosary being cited at 7 PM at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Belton. A mass of Christian celebration on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 will be held at 11 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Lucia Avila was born in Michoacan, Mexico to her parents Jeronimo Avila and Maria Trinidad Reyes on May 1, 1942. She married the love of her life Froylan A. Tapia. Lucia loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening and crocheting.

Lucia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Froylan Tapia; and son, Jesus Tapia.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Francisco Tapia; six daughters, Maria Elena Espinoza, Maria Eufemia Ruiz, Maria Trinidad Tapia, Evangelina Holcomb, Lilia Tapia, and Raquel Castillo; ten brothers; one sister; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
