Funeral Services for Luzell Kelley, 100 of Nolanville, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton with Pastor Patricia Warden officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Plesant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville. Mrs. Kelley passed from this life peacefully on Friday, June 16, at a local care facility.
Luzell Kelley was born June 27, 1916 in Nolanville, Texas to Minus and Ida Cox Biles. She was born and raised in Nolanville and lived the majority of her life in the area.
She was an enthusiastic quilter and loved sharing her quilts with family and friends. Luzell's quilts were truly a gift of love. Luzell was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Nolanville. She treasured her time serving her church. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to horse races, and most certainly watching her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Most of all Luzell Loved her family. She was so excited to reach 100 years and having all of her family by her side for her 100th birthday celebration was something that made her very happy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Kelley; daughters, Joyce Nunez, Doris Bever, and four brothers.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her daughter, Delores Sunshine Nolan; sons, John Kelley Jr. and wife Dinkie, Darrell Kelley and wife Sherry; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
There will be a time of visitation and fellowship on Monday, June 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton, 503 N. Main.
