Margaret Proft

Funeral services for Margaret Dube Proft, 95, of Belton are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church at The Grove with Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park.

Margaret was born at The Grove on January 31, 1918 to the late William John and Martha Kieschnick Dube. She married William John Proft on January 1, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1993. She was a homemaker and lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Grove. She was born, baptized and confirmed at The Grove.

She died Tuesday at a local care center.

Mrs. Proft was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, James Bernard Proft a sister, Ruth Winkler two brothers, William John Dube, Jr. and Charles Ernest Dube.

Survivors include two sons, William John Proft, Jr. of Roanoke, Robert Wayne Proft of The Grove two daughters, Margaret Ann Bray of San Antonio, Frances Katherine Moyer of San Jose, CA two brothers, Dr. Clarence O. Dube of Houston, Lawrence E. Dube of Rosenberg a sister, Frances Dube Miller of Houston eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 8pm Friday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton.
