Maria Ramos

Maria Ramos, age 80 of Belton, passed from this life Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton with a visitation starting at 5 pm and services immediately following at 6 pm. Inurnment will be in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 10 am.

Maria was born on November 30, 1944, to Luis Montalvo and Carmen Nieves in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Central High School. Maria worked for the IRS in Puerto Rico and dedicated 26 years working at the Afees Main Exchange in Germany and Ft. Stewart, Georgia. She was one of the most loving and caring people. She never met a stranger. She had a passion for music, and it was like it lived within her. Music would come on and she would dance. There was one thing for sure, no one could cook better than her. Maria was an avid animal lover. But most importantly her family was everything to her. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Carmen.

Survivors include her loving husband, Efrain Ramos; sons, Freddie Ramos and wife, Kimberly, and Hyamal Ramos and wife, Cindy; daughters, Lillian Conner, and Sabreena Cortez (first grandchild, adopted by Efrain and Maria in September of 2003); brother, Jose Antonio Montalvo; sister, Carmen Ana Nieves; 6 grandchildren, Ryan “Speedy” Ramos, Rebecca Conner, Christian “Red” Ramos, Hyamal Ramos Jr., Christopher “Fifer” Conner, and Isabella Ramos; and 5 great grandchildren, Malorie Ramos, Christopher Dobson III, Amila Dobson, Kensington Carpenter, and Yannalise Cortez.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Baylor Scott & White Hospice Team - Logan, Janell, Glene, and Kelly, Chaplain Anthony Taylor, Deacon James Rodgers, Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, and friends & family for all the support and love during this time.
