Marwin Balz

Services for Merwin D. Balz, 80, of Temple will be at 10:30 am Monday, December 3, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in Temple. Interment will be in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple. Pastor Pat Dietrich will be officiating.

Mr. Balz passed away November 27, 2012 at a local hospital.

Merwin was born on June 4, 1932 in Athens, WI to Louis and Eleanora Riemer Balz. He married Patricia Mae Balz on May 26, 1952 in Havre, MT, she preceded him in death. Merwin married Margie Boniface Mrs. B. in Salado on September 14, 2002. Merwin was an active member of the Heart of Texas Speedway until last year. He volunteered regularly for the Association for Retarded Citizens. Merwin was a member of First Lutheran Church in Temple, he delivered flowers to nursing homes and visited shutins through the church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia and one brother, Ronnie Balz.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Mrs. B., of Temple two sons, Terry and Roger, both of Temple one sister, Doreen Weise of Athens, WI 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Heartfield Funeral Home from 6:008:00 pm on Sunday, December 2, 2012.
