Mary Lee Stanley, age 71 of Jarrell, passed from this life Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Services will be held at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Belton on Tuesday, July 15, with a visitation starting at 2 pm and funeral service immediately following at 3 pm. Burial will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 16, at 9:30 am.
Mary Lee was born on June 17, 1954, to the late Edward Richard and Marian (Mitchell) Pizzati in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the best friend you never knew you needed. She never knew a stranger, and she was Mom to more than just Andrea and her husband Jeremy, and Grandma to more than just Autumn. Growing up, she had the opportunity to travel the world and experience a life that many only dream of. For her, every day was just a new adventure that awaited, and she couldn’t wait to go. She attended Singapore American High School, where she met and later married the love of her life, David. They were married for more than 28 years, when he passed in 2001. She never remarried because she said there was no one else who could ever love her the way he did. She taught us all about loving unconditionally and to do what you could to help others if it was within your means. She was a true shining light and an angel that walked among us. She loved with her whole heart, every minute of every day. Across the country and world, there are little pieces of her love in the things she did and made for others. Whether it was helping families of Andrea’s students, or gifts she had cross-stitched, crocheted, or sewn for family, friends, or even people she’d never met, everything was given because of the joy it brought her to give and do for others. She was always surrounded by love, laughter, and family, even in her final moments.
Mary Lee is preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Marian Pizzati, her beloved husband, David Stanley; and sister, Elizabeth Pizzati.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Wilson and her husband, Jeremy; granddaughter, Autumn Wilson; and all those who love her.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff of the Baylor Scott and White Temple North Tower 8th floor who cared for Mary Lee in her final days.
