Services for Mary Machree Gurganus Worsham, 89, of Belton, will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Belton, 503 N. Main Street. There will be a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mary passed from this life peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2018. She was born October 1, 1928 in Williamston, NC to the late Cecil Garland G. and Eva Ayers Gurganus. She married Leroy Charles Worsham, August 11, 1946 in Dillon, SC.
Mary attended schools in Hassell, NC; Roper, NC, Furth-Nuremburg, Germany; California State University of Sacramento; University of California Davis of Sacramento; and Central Texas College of Killeen. She obtained her Doctorate of Divinity during her time that she served on the board of Bethesda Ministries International, Inc.
Mary was a retired Real Estate Agent and an Ordained Pentecostal Minister. Mrs. Worsham has served as a Benefit Director and as a Director on the Board of Bethesda Ministries International. For many years and at the time of her passing she retained the office of Vice President of Bethesda Ministries International, which she became in June of 1997.
Mrs. Worsham was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Charles Worsham; a brother, Alton Gurganus, and a sister, Syble Blount.
Survivors include one son, Larry Monroe Worsham of Belton, TX; daughters Hazel G. Baum of Roper, NC, Roye Ann Snow of Taylorville, UT, Frances Knight of Belton, TX; sisters, Barbara G. Biggs and husband, Thomas H. Biggs of Edenton, NC, Lucy G. Spruill of Roper, NC; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any disabled American veterans association.
